Acoustic Only May 17, 2016 Live With Sean Frenette
Written by The Real Bruce Wayne on May 17, 2016
Due to a technical glitch when the dipstick DJ (that would be me) forgot to turn down the mixer, we’re currently editing the audio so please check back for some awesome live recorded Sean Frenette!
Today on AO, we had Portland’s own Sean Frenette in the studio. Sean is an amazing acoustic 3 string guitarist as well as classical guitar, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and singer. He’s been delighting audiences across the nation with the passion, innovation, and spirit of his unique musical performances. With 3 string guitar, electric-classical guitar, woodwinds, and voice, Sean artfully blends improvisation and slow-crafted composition, as well as influences that run the gamut—Michael Hedges, Andres Segovia, classical Indian music, Gregorian chant, Bach, and Jimi Hendrix (to name a few). From this synthesis of innovation and tradition emerges a vibrant and enchanting musical tapestry.
We covered a lot of ground but only scratched the surface of Seans musical breadth. Hopefully we can have him back in the studio soon.
