Gallery + Review: Skating Polly at the Analog

Written by on December 11, 2017

Gallery featuring Skelevision, Starcrawler and Skating Polly at Portland’s Analog Theater on December 2.

Skating Polly, a punk-rock step-sister duo from Oklahoma City, stopped in Portland on their US tour to headline a show featuring Starcrawler and Skelevision at The Analog Theater. The modern age riot-grrrl group celebrated the release of their new EP, New Trick, featuring Louise Post and Nina Gordon.

Skelevision and Starcrawler set an intense, yet playful tone for the evening with thundering beats, screaming lyrics, crawling on the bar and bringing fans on stage. Throughout the night, more and more people started filing into the small room. As the audience grew, so did the energy.

By the time Skating Polly played their set, the tiny venue was flooded with fans. The crowd sang along and danced to the girls’ heavy, screeching guitar riffs and sweet lyrics. Their set featured songs from all four of their albums and their latest EP.
