2 Chainz stopped by Portland’s Roseland Theater on his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music tour with his openers Young Dolph and Skooly earlier this week. This was an all ages event brought to you by Double Tee, Chapter’s Alumni & Dead Nation Presents.
2 Chainz came out to preform at 10pm after his openers to a crowd eagerly awaiting to see him preform his new music from his new album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. Except little did I know, when 2 Chainz came out he was in a wheel chair due to a broken leg. This was a huge surprise for me, especially seeing an artist have the resilience to continue a tour after an injury that forbids them from walking.
The rapper who rolled on stage in a pink wheelchair with his left leg extended wrote on his instagram about his injury and how the experience didn’t mean cancelling his tour, it meant “God wanted me to use my mind and be creative.” The amount of respect I had for 2 Chainz instantly doubled after seeing the great lengths he would go for his fans.
Needless to say it was a fun and high energy sold out show from beginning to end, from the audience to the back up dancers that 2 Chainz refers to as the “Trap Choir.” He performed new music like “It’s a Vibe” and “Big Amount” off his new album and also hit singles from prior years such as “No Lie” off his album Based on a T.R.U Story and “F**kin’ Problems” which features Drake, ASAP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar.
