This episode originally streamed over the interwebz LIVE on the tuesday morning represented by the 5th of May. This is the 12 entry into the Birds of a Feather show concept, and this show’s connective tissue was the breeding ground of amazing music that we know as Georgia.
Georgia is known as the Peach State, and lesser well known as the Empire State of the South. That was news to me. It should be the Cradle of American Music, or the Playpen. Maybe the Woobie. I think you can get where I’m going with this. It has been instrumental (ha! see what I inadvertently did there?) in crafting a large portion of the sound that represents American music across multiple genre platforms. It’s also a forgotten state of the Atlantic coastline.
So all the acts in this playlist (with the exception of the LAST track played, which was really just a bonus due to time allowance and a new find for me that I am particularly taken with) hail from Georgia, or at least started on their musical career as outfits exported upon the listening world as products of the Peach State. Everything however, is relatively recent. I mean the show is only an hour for crying out loud.
At this point I am just trying to push that 300 word limit to make the SEO robot happy. I’ve of course been over this before, so I will not rant on it again in this very space. Except to say, “why the 300 words” I am legitimately curious as to what that word length accomplishes. No, really I am. Despite my natural predilection for an attitude of a sardonic and facetious nature. I am actually, literally wondering. Today; as I type this, is the 2nd of August. After this post, I only need to post 9 more shows, and I WILL be up to date. If I can accomplish this in 7 days I will be caught up by the time I take to the digital airwaves once again.
