Company of Thieves Release Better Together EP
Written by Joe on February 23, 2018
Company of Thieves reach a milestone with the release of their new EP, Better Together. Stream it on Sound Cloud below.
Better Together is the first release from the band since 2011. In 2013 the band had decided and announced they’d be taking a hiatus, and the status of the band would remain in question indefinitely. After each member had the opportunity to grow, and pursued various projects individually, they decided to embark on a reunion tour, return to the studio to record with each other, and tour as the supporting act for Walk the Moon’s U.S. tour.
Better Together features 5 tracks, both new and old. The lead single for the EP, “Treasure” was the first song the band wrote together after returning from their hiatus, and channels the emotions felt after the U.S. Presidential Election of 2016. “Window” and “Younger” are unfinished tracks that the band revisited and completed after years apart. The final two tracks, “Oscar Wilde” and “Treasure”, are live and intimate renditions of the songs from the bands performance at Reverb in Chicago.
