On May 27 Catfish and the Bottlemen will be stopping by Portland’s Roseland Theater, before playing Sasquatch! Music Festival on May 28 the next day, for the final day of the festival. Doors are at 8pm, and music starts at 9pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $25, right here.
Catfish and the Bottlemen is Van McCann (vocals, guitar), Johnny Bond (guitar), Benji Blakeway (bass), and Bob Hall (drums). The UK rock band from Wales formed in 2007, and released their debut album The Balcony in 2014. The album peaked at #10 and #9 on the UK and US album charts, respectfully, and reached Platinum status in December 2016.
After the release of their debut album, Catfish and the Bottlemen toured nonstop. Selling out their shows and tours across various countries, and taking advantage of any downtime they had to write their second album The Ride. Speaking about their most recent release in a Tweet, the band states:
“We started recording the album at any chance we could get, in between shows over the summer. And, after the final night on ‘The Balcony’ tour finished we were set to have some time off but couldn’t wait and didn’t think yous should have to either after the run you gave us. So, we went straight in to finish the second album.”
The band goes on to say The Ride is the proudest they’ve ever been about anything they’ve written. Following the relese of The Ride, the band has been touring incessantly. After their summer music festival run, the band will be joining Green Day in support of their Revolution Radio Summer Tour, and making a stop, again, at Portland’s Moda Center on August 2. If history is any indication of what this band is up to, they may already have a third album in the works. Regardless, their show at the Roseland is one you cannot miss.
