Green Day | FFO: The Offspring, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World
A household name and a band that needs no introduction. Currently touring their newest album, Green Day brings the Revolution Radio Tour to Portland, OR. With special guests Catfish and the Bottlemen, the band will make a stop at Portland’s Moda Center on Friday, August 2. Various ticket prices and seating options can be found on Ticketmaster here, the show is at 7pm PST, and Rose Quarter parking is offered for $20.
A band that is no stranger to the industry and has been around since 1986, Green Day is back and touring their twelfth studio album: Revolution Radio. Released on October 7, 2016, the album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and is the band’s third album to do so. By selling more than 85 million albums worldwide, winning 5 Grammy awards, and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015; Green Day has become one of the most successful and influential bands in the industry, and continues to stay active and add to their legacy with no signs of slowing down.
Revolution Radio has been praised by many publications as the most personal, emotional, and quintessentially Green Day album in years. Rolling Stone notes the album “reflects decades of accrued emotional and musical wisdom.” Having done this for over 30 years, Green Day’s live shows are similarly masterfully crafted and a high energy and visual show that doesn’t end. From water and confetti cannons, pyrotechnics, the stage presence of the band, the act Billie Joe Armstrong is himself, and powerful and memorable music that can stand on its own; Green Day is an act that every music lover must witness.
Be sure to get there early, Green Day’s supporting act, the UK rock band from Wales, Catfish and the Bottlemen is an alt rock band on the verge of breaking out. Still high from and touring the release of their sophomore album (The Ride), Catfish and the Bottlemen perfectly compliments Green Day and will become your new favorite artist.
