The four piece Bay Area band, SWMRS, is currently on tour with Fueled by Ramen label mates All Time Low on their US leg, as well as their UK and European tour. All Time Low is headlining the tour in celebration of their latest record Last Young Renegade with support from SWMRS, The Wrecks, and Waterparks. The tour made a stop at Portland’s Roseland Theater for a sold out show to an incredibly welcoming and excited crowd.
With the way music is listened and enjoyed to these days, audiences and music lovers are more likely to be open and listen to supporting artists prior to a show, and may even already be fans of them before a lineup is even announced. It was surprising and heartwarming to see the level of enjoyment, compassion, and excitement from the welcoming crowd at the Roseland theater. Many rocked All Time Low shirts and merchandise, but a significant portion of the crowd welcomed the likes of Waterparks and SWMRS by wearing their shirts in support. Those at the barricade even threw flowers onstage to the supporting bands.
SWMRS didn’t disappoint and delivered the best show they could. After coming out onstage with all the lights out, preparing and taking their spots, and once the lights came on all of the guys gave it their all throughout the set. They showed no signs of stopping during their high energy set, and succeeded in making you feel like you were at a traditional rock concert. Though they played a shorter set since they were a supporting act, they gave the crowd a small taste of what the band was capable of, and revealed to Portland they would be back in the Fall.
In addition to supporting All Time Low, SWMRS has a lineup of very impressive shows ahead of them. They’ll be joining Blink-182 and A Day to Remember on their tour, and appearing at Green Day’s Hyde Park performance in London on July 1st.
