The four piece Bay Area band, SWMRS, will be joining Fueled by Ramen label mates All Time Low on their US tour, as well as their UK and European tour. The US leg will make a stop at Portland’s Roseland theater, and tickets can be purchased here. Tickets are $29.50 in advance, the show is all ages with a bar/balcony seating with ID, and doors open at 5:30 with music starting at 6:30. All Time Low is headlining the show with support from SWMRS, The Wrecks, and Waterparks.
SWMRS originated from Emily’s Army, a middle school punk band started by lead vocalist Cole Becker and drummer Joey Armstrong. Emiy’s Army received success, releasing two albums produced by Green Day’s frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong, (also the father of Joey) playing multiple festivals and tours, before officially changing their name in 2014 to SWMRS. In 2016, the band worked with Zac Carper, vocalist for Fidlar, to release their next album on their own indie label Uncool Records. Later that year, SWMRS announced they were signing with the label Fueled By Ramen (Panic! at the Disco, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, etc.) and re-releasing a remastered version of Drive North. SWMRS has received a lot of commercial success by performing on CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, and being featured as Rolling Stones Magazine’s Best New Artist. With the obvious influence, SWMRS has been compared to the early sound of Green Day.
In addition to supporting All Time Low, SWMRS has a lineup of very impressive shows ahead of them. They’ll be joining Blink-182 and A Day to Remember on their tour, and appearing at Green Day’s Hyde Park performance in London on July 1st.
