Haunting Inspirations

Last year Fighting Rose had a two-part “Nightmare” playlist in the spirit of Halloween (go back a couple pages and give them a listen), and this year I’m offering up even more spooks and scares – in the form of songs inspired by horror movies. They’re all pretty self explanatory, and they might even inspire your obligatory Halloween movie marathon (every self respecting person has one of these). For reference, here’s a list of the movies each song was inspired by or featured in.

Maniac (song 1983) –  Maniac (film 1980)

Freddy Krueger (song 2015) –  A Nightmare on Elm Street (film 1984)

Pinhead (song 1977) – Freaks (film 1932)

Psycho Killer (song 1977)- Psycho (film 1960)

Why Did’t Rosemary? (song 1969) – Rosemary’s Baby (film 1968)

Eyes Without a Face (song 1984) – Eyes Without A Face (film 1960)

Godzilla (song 1977) – Godzilla (film 1954)

House of Pain(song 1984) – The Island of Lost Souls (film 1932)

Chain Saw (song 1976) – The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (film 1974)

Sign Of The Wolf (song 1984) – The Wolf Man (film 1941)

The Wicker Man (song 2000) – The Wicker Man (film 1973)

Living Dead Girl (song 1988) – Living Dead Girl (film 1982)

Dream Warriors (song 1987) – A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (film 1987)
