After a nine month hiatus in their almost decade long touring career, White Denim is back on the road. The Austin, Texas, band will be touring in support of their new album, Stiff. They’ve gone through the normal growing pains of any alternative band, starting out on the shoegaze side of things before easing their way into more alternative rock by adding another guitar to their lineup before recording their third album. Now, after releasing a few singles from Stiff, their genre seems to be evolving yet again into more of a classic rock sound reminiscent of Led Zeppelin combined with Cream. It will be a bold move to start to tour in support of album so soon after its release, but their extensive discography gives them much to choose from to make sure the experience will be interactive for fans in attendance.

Though the band members haven’t been playing as White Denim for the past year or so, a few of them have been touring as the backing band of Leon Bridges. Since ceasing that gig, they’ve been recording in Texas. Now, they’ve rolled through SXSW, are about to play Treefort Festival in Boise, and will be in Portland on Sunday.

Catch White Denim at the Doug Fir Lounge on Sunday, March 27th | 9:00 PM | $16 | Tickets
