What’s up people?
A new term means new content. This term Mood Swings will be branching out into different genres and vibes. However, every show will still have a distinct vibe.
This time on Mood Swings, I explore the album “Mockroot” by Armenian composer Tigran Hamasyan. His fast paced, heavy metal-esque sound creates a feeling that I can only describe as intensity. The synths and chord voicings he uses, combined with Sam Minaie’s rumbling bass guitar and Arthur Hnatek destroying the drums, bring a new kind of energy to the table and keep things interesting while making me want to head bang like there’s no tomorrow.
I also look at Haywyre – a classically trained pianist who discovered the realm of electronic music (much like myself). His improvisational style and extremely clean production on tracks like The Schism bring fiery energy to the table, however, I want to dance and get down more than anything when I listen to his album “Two Fold (Pt. 1)”. The live improvisation of each song is something that I as a musician aspire to emulate. The chill vibes on other songs such as Doppleganger put a smile on my face and make me bob my head. Overall, Haywyre is one of my favorite electronic producers because of his originality even spread out over 10 albums.
I hope you guys enjoy this week’s show, I really had fun with it.
