Triathalon – Nothing Bothers Me
Written by DJ Ekonomiks on October 24, 2016
What’s good everyone,
Coming at you this week with a great psychedelic rock album called “Nothing Bothers Me” by Triathalon. Shout outs to Kenny Snitzer for turning me onto this band, I’ve been bumping it for the past 2 weeks! This band is really groovy and dreamy, the first thing I noticed was how much reverb they put on their guitars and how clean their tone is. I really enjoy how original the songwriting is, a lot of odd time signatures and the first song switches up 3 times! Talk about an opening track. From there, we move on to the very mellow “It’s you” followed up by an extremely ethereal track entitled “Fantasy Jam”. This whole album seems like a fantasy jam, from the echoey guitars to the soft falsetto of Adam Intrators riding over top of the melody like a surfer over a wave on a perfect sunny evening… Sorry I was getting carried away in the vibes of this album. My favorite track is definitely “Chill Out”. This song definitely makes me chill out, no matter what the situation is. Overall, I love the sound of this project and the mellow vibes it puts out. I think this band is going in a really wavey direction and I can’t wait to listen to their new 2016 album, Cold Shower.
I think this album helped me get through my first round of midterms. It’s all in the name, Nothing Bothers Me. This album really embodies the meaning of that phrase.
I hope you guys enjoyed this week’s episode!
