Takimba – Interview and Short Music Preview | 5.6

Written by DJ Nico Troi on June 2, 2017

What a great hour. I have to say this has been one of the most knowledgable interviews I have had in awhile when it comes to the history of music. Takimba came in to KPSU the other night to talk about his art, projects, and his roots as a DJ and Artist.

Takimba has been in the game for 17  years and has made a name for himself on the radio, through KBOO Portland, through Heart Beat Silent Sound System, a  silent disco event company, and through his own art. He constantly has things going on whether it be another event for the silent disco or from running the daily grind but told me he loves every minute of it.

He will be at What the Festival 2017 this year performing on the Pool Stage for all to come and groove too. The last two years he had a rapper on stage. I wonder what will be happening this year. He also will be at Oregon Eclipse doing a great collaborative set there as well.

Tune into the podcast below to learn more about Takimba and listen to a few of his favorites and a great production of his own.

Go even further down to find more about where you can catch Takimba as well as for links to What The Festival 2017 which KPSU will be covering this year.
