Short Memory

Live music of all shapes and sizes
  • Friday 11pm-Saturday 12am

Live recordings, and frequent in-studio guests.

Recent Highlights:

March 14, Interview and in-studio performance from Seattle Band Post Harbor. Powerful performance from a band who has worked patiently to let each song develop and build into stunning expressions.

April 4, I interviewed two artists who you can catch on the Hotel Cafe Tour, in the Wonder Ballroom Wednesday, April 9th. If you miss it, don't miss the music, check these guys out. William Fitzsimmons is absolute gold. His music is honest and soulful, with understated vocals and minimalist arrangements. Interesting guy to talk to, his art is deliberate, well thought out, and completely his own. Jesca Hoop introduces us to a complete world that is as diverse as the background she comes from. Raised in a Mormon home, lived in the wilderness with troubled kids, and nannied for who else? Tom Waits. Check out this broadcast, and then check out their music. Amazing stuff. In my current top two.

Coming up, many more in-studio performances from local and regional bands. From garage to hip hop. Keep tuning in.

Talking Heads

This Friday on Short Memory, I'll be featuring a couple of 25 to 30-year-old performances from Talking Heads. This is vintage stuff, Talking Heads when they were at the forefront of a musical awakening.

To play these old recordings, I had to get special permission from David Byrne. His management sent the approval with the condition that it not be made available for download. So, if you want to catch it, you will have to tune in that night, either on your radio or online. After that, it will be deleted from the archive.

So, Friday, January 24th at 11pm -- Be there!
