Yo. Along with every other self respecting Hip-Hop dj in the world, I put together a Dilla tribute show this week. I humbly present this mix as simply my spin on some of my favorite cuts the late great Jay Dee was involved in. This hour focuses on his more mellow, late nineties production work. Not too many rarities or surprises, just classic Dilla material. In all honesty, I really got cut short due to time constraints. I had a few other cuts planned to throw in at the end but I ran out of show. I was very intent on playing the Roots' song that ends their newest album as it does such a great job of presenting Dilla's legacy to those who know his music but not his name. Rest in Paradise Dilla. Thank you for the beautiful music you left behind.
