Hello Trippers: here's your musical Easter basket of psychedelic treats and goodies, these cuts are Solid Milk Chocolate Easter Bunnies - they are not hollow like some candy treats, neither are they waxy or filled with air - these cuts are hand-picked for you! So enjoy! The featured album of the night is (what else?) Easter Everywhere by the 13th Floor Elevators and we only played 2 cuts off the lp because it is assumed that all real psych heads will already have it in their collections so why gild the Easter lily (as it were?) Especially treatful is the comparison of 3 versions of Cat Iron's "Jimmy Bell's In Town" by Cat Iron (on Folkways - 1958), Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band ("What's all this booga-booga music - live at the Roxy 1975" on the mighty Wizardo label,) and the Numbers Band 15-60-75 (Jimmy Bell's Still in Town on the Valentine Michael Smith/Robt. Heinlein inspired Water Brothers label. - 1976.) Lots of fun music - feel free to download it and hop down the bunny trail with it...We live in a universe of infinite possibilities, so why not celebrate happy Easter Everywhere every day? Are we not water brothers and sisters? - peace out, from your long-eared egg hidin' host Cosmic Jim (PS the last 2 cuts listed were tossed in the mix somewhere as an extra special Spring Equinox Solstice Easter surpise...) Thank you for listening to my show, I wish you all the best. It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown. (The Johnny Thomas cut borrows heavily from John Lee Hooker's "Boogie Chillun" & Slim Green's "Old Folks Boogie" (which Capt. Beefheart also covered...)
