Psychedelic greetings trippers: Here's another episode of Ye Olde Psychedelic Renaissance for your listening pleasure. I really enjoy hosting this show and hope that people like listening to it. What's the purpose of the show, you might ask? To play fun mind-expanding songs from the varied and sordid rock and roll past that didn't really get played that much (or at all) during the period of time in which they were released. These are rare records that I feel got overlooked at the time, and which are interesting to listen to, if only to catch a glimpse of the mindset of the musicians during the late 1960's and early 1970's. If you (the listener) enjoy or are curious about that particular era of rock and roll (or prog or experimental or garage or acid rock/folk/soul etc) you'll probably enjoy listening to the cuts that are spun on the psychedelic renaissance. If you like the show, please call KPSU and let them know that you like the show and you want it to continue on KPSU. Thank you very much for your support. Peace out, Cosmic Jim your host. Lots of great music tonight plus a few extremely rare songs from some extremely rare lps! and a special 4 song extravaganza about Lemonade that you might find interesting. Maybe it'll even wet your whistle - except for the song about Lemonade Formaldehyde - but they warn you not to drink it. Maybe sometime we can do a set about not drinking Lemonade Formaldehyde (by experimental band "Amber Route") and not eating the Yellow Snow (by Frank Zappa) while riding in your Yellow Submarine (by those Liverpudlian Mop tops.) There's another song Travelling Riverside (by Robert Johnson) about squeezing his lemon, but we're not going there at this time (yes, Led Zep squeezed their British lemons too.) Lots of songs about lemons out there. Even Blind Lemon Jefferson. But that's for future shows. In the meantime, Thank you so very much for listening to my show, I sincerely hope you like it, It's my biggest thrill to get to play these songs on the radio for you. Thankyou KPSU for letting me play this music, and thankyou especially to Ground Kontrol for underwriting this show. If you own a business and would like to help underwrite the Psychedelic Renaissance please contact the station and you'll be very much appreciated - and your business will be mentioned throughout the whole Psychedelic cyberspace universe (there's lot's of trippers out there...) Stay tuned next week for an even better, more cooler show - it's gonna be a real rip-snorter!!! Peace out, Cosmic Jim....
