Local Band Church releases 2nd EP “Gold”, and celebrates with live show @ Kelly’s Olympian with special guests. Friday Oct 24th at 9:30.

Portland, OR, Oct 24th, 2008– Having formed only one year ago, Church has made a considerable impact on the local music scene in Portland. Church was conceived when brothers Brandon and Richard Laws decided to take their Beach Boy influenced fraternal harmonies, and mix it with Christof Hendrickson’s vintage synth collection. The mix has been met with positive responses from audiences and has gained considerable local and national buzz. The band has been reviewed positively by both the Mercury and Willamette Week, and was deemed “Hypeworthy” by taste-making blog I Guess I’m Floating.

On Oct 24th, Church will be releasing their second EP entitled Gold. The disc is a delightful 16 minute display of the bands proficiency in song writing and performance. Gold was recorded entirely live without over dubs, capturing the energy of their live shows, and ranges in from moody and pensive to frenetic and jubilant.

The band will be celebrating the release with a live show at Kelly’s Olympian, along with The Rainy States and special guests. 9:30, on October 24th.

Kelly’s Olympian is located @ 426 SE Washington in Downtown Portland.

Admission is $5
