Soma Sessions

Electronic; various genres from Indie to Minimal
  • Tuesday 4-6pm

The soma sessions is one hour of non-stop music that incorporates a wide variety of my best electronic music. I listen to everything from soundtrack type music to drum and bass and trance. I usually try to focus on a certain style of music for each show; sometimes I like to start off slow and mellow and slowly progress things, while other nights I like to start things off with a bang and continue from there. I'd describe my music as eclectic, and I feel that it relates the variations in my personality.

If I were to do a mix that encompasses each of the different styles I am interested in; the ideal set would start off with some soundtrack type music (Brian Eno influenced music). From there I try to get into some old-skool ambient or minimal music; and then I try to mix it into some subtle trip hop or glitch. Depending on where I end up at the end of my set, you could either be feeling cool with some catchy trip-hop/lounge type music, or you could be banging your head to some progressive house music. Sometimes I just go with the flow and play what feels right, or on a good night, I specifically plan out every song and when/where I am going to mix the song.
