Ballot Result is the third incarnation of a weekly punk radio show hosted by Dr. Science -- Ben King. The show began as House Party Before Deployment, a weekly 2-hour punk fest on KCED's 91.3FM with cohost Justin Linson, who brought his interest in '77 and street punk to the show. It was a rousing international sensation, but after it's original 10 week run, Justin moved on to better things. House Party Before Deployment fell to the wayside, and all original recordings were destroyed in a warehouse fire. A quarter off the air before the show had returned, DJ Vigo Bones took center stage as co-host of the show, which had been renamed Word Cancer and featured way more psychobilly. Again, punks from Bangkok to Bristol danced on their stoops as we spun everything from the Nekromantix to the Weakerthans. After the end of the schoolyear, 2008, Word Cancer's whirlwind 10-week run came to an end after art thieves stole all ten episodes from the archive. They were caught, but the episodes were caught in the crossfire and erased by the villain's magnet-vision. Finally, in late 2011, sheared of bits and kitsch, the beast has stirred again. Again renamed, Ballot Result is a leaner, trimmer show, with one host for less banter and more music. Trawling the punk news sites, facebooks and bandcamps world over, host Ben King works weekly to bring you some of the best new punk music that you've heard yet.
