The discovery of a coffee shop a mere two blocks away has saved me from total collapse. I believe I can speak for the entire audience when I say that Mattress's earlier set grabbed an emotional spot in the pit of all of our stomaches, lifted it up past our esophaguses, past our larynxes, right through our heads, and then set it down somewhere on our frontal lobes. After that, our brains exploded. It was quite a cathartic experience.

Walking out into the sunshine and hearing Cower, I found myself tired in a way that God must have been tired after he watched the big bang. I didn't have the energy to fully experience Cower or Experiment Dental School. Now, Bark Hide and Horn are getting going and Cary Clarke just told me that a band is setting up down the street to do a guerrilla set.
This is in no way meant to give full coverage of PDX Pop Now. For that, you could check out Urban Honking or Michael Mannheimer's coverage on Local Cut. Also, listen to KPSU or PRA to hear our on-location interviews.
