To follow up the Live Pledge Drive show from last week (which featured 16 of the sweetest recordings from my personal collection of KPSU In-Studio Recordings), I came back with 16 more great bands to satisfy your Live Music needs for this year. These are performances and versions of songs you won't find anywhere else, and features performances by The Action Zone, Va Va Voom, The Human Genome Project, Empty Room, The Bugs Of Lightning, Levator, Prize Country, Dance Card, Ashtray, Neckties Make Me Nervous, Straitjacket, The Mayonnaise vs.
For Pledge Drive this week, I decided to dig deep into my collection of live recordings I made over the years, and managed to find 16 hidden gems that perfectly illustrate the kind of content you can find on KPSU, and nowhere else. This is a fantastic show that I think will appeal to a wide variety of people, and is the perfect way to sell people on donating money to KPSU.
Giant Hamburgers ate Little Timmy and shat him out and ate him again. He's still alive!
Eskimo & Sons are starting their set as I start this post. I can see a tuba bell peaking over from behind the crowd and a crooning voice leads the band before eventually being overtaken by it.
It's been a great weekend and it's only getting better. Normally, I wouldn't be sitting down for a band like Eskimo & Sons, but I need to take a breather before I find my second wind. I know Starfucker is going to take a lot out of me tonight, so I want to make sure I have a lot of energy for them to take.
We're here in full force at the 5th Annual PDX Pop! Festival. Staff and community members are taking a TON of photos, holding interviews with bands, and getting exclusive content for all our awesome listeners.
Stay tuned for updates from the festival. Andy Combs and the Moth just finished up an AWESOME set inside Rotture and we're all about to head outside to catch Sweater and Bodhi. Totally badass.
We're workin on getting all the photos of today and yesterday's mayhem up for your perusal. Come down and hang out...and if you can't make it, keep streamin'!

In a completely expected, yet nonetheless exciting victory, the KPSU staff became the winner of the first sub-basement bowling tournament. Following the 276-239 defeat, which the KPSU team accomplished with no effort, The Daily Vanguard quickly retreated to their offices to update their blogs.
The first issue of KPSU Magazine hit the town on July 31 at an amazing release party at Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade. Download it now!
Thanks are overdue to Day of Lions, Paper Brain, and Moan for ringing in the publication with awesome performances, as well as the various KPSU DJs who also provided the soundtrack to the night. We had a great time and look forward to seeing you all there for the premiere of our next issue, slated for a November 2007 release. Props to Ground Kontrol to putting up with over 200 fanatic gamers, music lovers, and loyal KPSU listeners.
