Better Get It In Your Soul, formerly heard 'round midnight 'til 2am on Wednesday mornings, can now be heard from 11pm-12am Tuesday nights. Two hours minus one means a tighter show (and a more awake host). Listen in.
I was only too happy to fill in for DJ Kittenmouse on Monday night. I actually think it's one of the best shows I've done so far, definitely one of the smoothest. If you're interested in listening, it's not in the Better Get It archives, it's with Kittenmouse's (9-10 pm). Added a few more beats than normal...something to, you know, get those younger kids listening.
The time spent hosting "Better Get It In Your Soul" is quickly becoming my favorite two hours of the week. The third show went off pretty much without a hitch, and I feel far more comfortable with the controls and equipment - though I could still use more polish when it comes to cueing vinyl tracks. I don't know how many people are actually listening, but I hope that everyone who does is introduced to at least one song or artist which opens some kind of doorway, through which further investigation is prompted.
Well, I've got the first one out of the way and under my belt. It can only get better. The thing I'm happiest about is that I remembered to thank everyone I meant to thank. Thanks to Jessica and Ava for the encouraging words of support during the show - it helped tremendously. Thanks also to Tony, who preceded me on the air. I only found out two minutes before 12 that there were no styluses on the turntables; I had planned to lead the program with an LP cut.
