There comes a time for everything to move, one way or another, up or down, sideways or parallel, through time and space. The dynamics of change and the effects of time are immutable and irresistible, it is true; yet how aware are we that our feelings toward each other can be upheld in this wild topsy-turvy maelstrom that is our lives? I don't know, but thank God we've got John Sauer coming on the Fathers and Families show to shine a little light on long-distance parenting, to give us a little insight into the world of travel benefit negotiation when landing a job, and to prepare us for hurtling through it all at light speed without the need for an airsick bag.
Put the gun down, get on your knees and thank dear Jesus for fathers, whether you like yours or not! That's right, it's Fathers Day. Buy your ties, your Hallmark cards, and send your best to your Dad or the one nearest you. Do it now! On Thursday, though, at 6pm on this very station, you (and your Dad, if you like) simply must tune in to the Fathers and Families Show. Mel Feit and Gus Sleiman will appear to help us celebrate Father's Day in a gender-inclusive way, and I know you don't want to miss that. Listen in, for this is as the Hypnotoad commands! Obey the Hypnotoad!
This week's show features Ian Rocker on the need for fair and repectful, but vigorous political debate on important current issues, a visit from Jen of the ever indispensible Family Magazine, and the usual fumbling engineering of yours truly, just to name a few of the thrills and spills that only a family show like ours can deliver! IF you haven't heard already, let me be the first to tell you about the upcoming FREE concert at Holladay Park (on the south side of the Lloyd Center) on the weekend of July 22nd and 23rd. We'll have music, hot dogs, and fun for the kids, too! Hope to see you there
Stay tuned right here for exciting news about the Fathers and Families show and other stuff, coming real soon!
