Viking Twang Show 116, January 25, 2017
Good morning, welcome to Viking Twang Episode 116. My name’s Randy Black; happy to see you at our new day and time, Tuesday at 10 a.m.
As you know, we lost our friend Jim Boyer a year ago. This Saturday, the Laurelthirst Public House will host Heavy Boots, a tribute show to Jimmy. It should be a great night and I hope to see you all there.
Today we’re going to host our own tribute. This is a live show of the Jim Boyer Band from the East Avenue Tavern, April 7, 1995, a pledge drive show for KBOO radio. Thanks to our friend Christopher Webb for providing this great recording.
This is one long recording, not broken down by song, so I’ll just play it straight through. At about the 40 minute mark, it takes a break for a pledge drive, so we’ll have some announcements while I set it to the start of the music again. It’ll probably fade out in the middle of the song at the end.
The Jim Boyer Band that night was Billy Kennedy, Tim Acott, Sam Henry, Forrest Bloodgood, Dan Haley, and Kevin Ritchey.
